Data centers are one of the largest and fastest growing markets for backup power.  Mission-critical equipment requires a fast-responding, reliable source of backup power.  In addition, many data centers are manned facilities which require hot water or space heating for their personnel as well as equipment cooling during an extended outage.

multi coreUsing its scalable, multi-core design, Microcell can produce 100kW + power plants installed in a rack configuration which is easily maintained and repaired on-site. Fuel for the plant will be easily provided by a natural gas supply and a standard reformer.

Competitive Advantage
With its fast response capability, Microcell’s power plant can replace both battery UPS for short term outages as well as diesel/gasoline fired generation for long term outages and/or baseload operation.

Along with its versatile power generation, the power plant can provide heat for space heating, hot water or cooling through a thermally activated cooling system increasing the overall net efficiency of the system to over 60%.

Using a Microcell power plant allows the customer to replace multiple generation technologies with a single, modular installation which is cleaner (less GHG emissions and no end of life disposal issues), more efficient, and more cost effective over the life cycle. Also, using its remote operation and maintenance features, the system is easily monitored so the customer can feel confidence in its operation for critical outages.
